P360 and P460 Memory Scanners Scan-Intensive Batch Data Collection
Versatile Memory
Scanners with Programmable Architecture
The
P360 and P460 memory scanners from Symbol Technologies are rugged,
high-performance devices designed to minimize fatigue in scan-intensive
applications. These batch data collection tools allow you to collect data while
freely roaming the premises for up to 12 hours. To download data, simply drop
the P360/P460 into the cradle connected to the host. The P360/P460 also operate
in a corded mode when cabled to a host. What's more, these scanners ship with a
free inventory application enabling users to manually key in alphanumeric data
and quantities. You can also review and delete existing records right out of the
box using the top-mounted keypad and display.
For added versatility, the P360/P460 offer a programmable architecture that
extends functionality to deliver portable terminal-like capabilities. MCL™
-Designer's intuitive graphical user interface allows even non-programmers to
develop custom data management applications that harness the scanners' keypad,
display and on board computing power. Use MCL-Link communication software to
connect the P360/P460 to your host. MCL-Link capabilities include ODBC database
connectivity and the automation of frequent tasks such as nightly data downloads
and look-up file updates.

Available
in two configurations, the P360/P460 deliver the scanning performance users have
come to expect from Symbol. Sealed to IP54 standards, the P360 is suited for
extreme environments and withstands multiple 6 ft./1.8 m drops to concrete,
making it ideal for warehouse, yard or loading dock applications. The P460
delivers identical data capture functionality for in-store uses like gift
registry, POS scanning, inventory counts and price checks.

Integration
Whether
scanning and storing in batch mode or cabled to a host, the P360/P460 offer
RS-232 and Symbol's Synapse "smart" cable interfaces for connectivity
to all popular hosts. The standard 1 MB version provides ample memory capacity
for inventory counts and everyday data management tasks including those using
look-up tables. Consider the 4 MB or 8 MB models for applications requiring very
large look-up tables. Both the P360 and P460 support 123Scan™.
This Windows®-based Advanced Data Formatting utility enables bar
coded data to be formatted before transmission to the host device, thereby
ensuring compatibility with the host application. The scanners may be programmed
via PC download, or by scanning bar codes generated by the utility.
