Performance
The
PowerScan LR scanner has been specifically designed "from the ground up" to meet
the demands of tough industrial applications - especially where labels are
frequently scanned both up close and at great distances. It will read a standard
13 mil UPC label as close as 5 inches (13 cm) and a 100 mil reflective label 22
feet (264 cm) away. Forklift operators can use the PowerScan LR to scan both bar
codes on a manifest and distant shelf labels without leaving their forklift.
In any application, you can rely on the PowerScan LR for fast, accurate bar
code reading of both paper and reflective labels. PSC's new QuadraLogic™
decoding software enables users to successfully read dirty, smudged and damaged
labels that were previously considered unreadable. In addition, the PowerScan LR
will automatically adjust to read a wide range of code densities and
autodiscriminate all standard bar code symbologies.
Dependable In The Harshest Conditions
Even in the harshest working
environ-ments, you can depend on the PowerScan LR to keep on working. Designed
to meet the most stringent drop specification in the industry, the scanner will
withstand multiple 6 foot (183cm) drops to concrete. Even dust and moisture
won't phase it. In fact, the PowerScan LR scanner has a rating of IP54, which
means it meets or exceeds the sealing rating of every portable host terminal on
the market. And don't worry about weather conditions - the PowerScan LR scanner
operates in bone-chilling blizzards, down to -22° F (-30° C) and scorching
desert heat, up to 122° F (50° C).
Built Rugged To Stand Up To Abuse
Handheld scanners are often dropped
and abused, so the PowerScan LR has been designed with tough impact-resistant
material and incorporates protective rubber cushioning at every point of impact.
The frictionless scan mechanism, with a limited lifetime warranty, and all
internal optical components, are shock mounted to maintain precise alignment
under high shock loads. The PowerScan LR also features a unique shatterproof
scan window with a patented diamond coating to resist scratching. Even the
replaceable interface cable is protected with an integrated metal strain relief.
Innovative Host Connectivity
The PowerScan LR scanner offers a
broad range of communication options using unique multi-interface modules, which
allow for connection to most host computer systems. Our AutoSelect™ feature
allows you to quickly move between different hosts and applications by simply
changing cables. In addition, the PowerScan scanner's low current draw, combined
with its low power mode, make it ideal for use with battery operated terminals.
